The principle of transistor amplification circuit is as follows. Taking NPN silicon transistor as an example, we call the current flowing from base B to emitter E as base current Ib. The current flowing from collector C to emitter E is called collector current Ic. The directions of these two currents both flow out of the emitter, so an arrow is used on the emitter E to indicate the direction of the current. The amplification function of triode is that the collector current is controlled by the base current (assuming that the power supply can provide enough current to the collector), and a small change of the base current will cause a great change of the collector current, and the change satisfies a certain proportional relationship: the change of the collector current is β times that of the base current, that is, the current change is amplified β times, so we call β the amplification factor of triode. This parameter is very important for triode and determines its application scenario.
If we add a small changing signal between the base and the emitter, it will cause the change of the base current Ib. After the change of Ib is amplified, it will lead to a great change of Ic. If the collector current Ic flows through a resistor R, then according to the voltage calculation formula U=R*I, the voltage on this resistor will change greatly, and the amplified voltage signal will be obtained by taking out the voltage on this resistor.
